The BDS Group is one of the largest licensed users of Tekla Structures software in the world ( www.tekla.com ). The Tekla software is rapidly becoming the de facto standard for complex building and construction modelling and BDS are widely acknowledged as one of the most advanced users of the software.
After more than 45 years successful operation BDS Steel Detailing changed its name to BDS VIRCON in February 2009. The new name recognises the virtual construction and model co-ordination services we provide in addition to our traditional steel detailing services.
We have devised a virtual construction process that is designed to assist the construction and manufacturing teams, create a digital construction simulation, moving through a series of increasingly complex, detailed and accurate 3D modeling phases producing a wide variety of deliverables including; layouts, schedules, steel detail drawings, rebar detail drawings detailed reports.
The BDS Virtual Construction Process will generate planning and logistics models, construction models, manufacturing models and ultimately a fully connected and detailed production model. The process gives clarity to site logistics, schedules, quantities, costs and constructability issues.
